Southern Brown Kiwi Iron-On Patch

Celebrate one of Aotearoa’s most iconic native birds with this Southern Brown Kiwi (Tokoeka) iron-on patch.

Perfect for adding a little piece of New Zealand to jackets, backpacks, tote bags, hats or other fabric gear. The patch has an iron-on backing for easy application and can also be stitched on for extra security.

How to apply

1. Place the patch in your desired position with the embroidered side facing up.
2. Cover the patch with a thin cotton cloth or baking paper to protect the embroidery.
3. Set your iron to a medium-high heat with no steam.
4. Press firmly over the patch for approximately 20–30 seconds. Do not move the iron back and forth.
5. Turn the garment inside out and press the reverse side for another 20–30 seconds where possible.
6. Allow the patch to cool completely before checking the bond. Repeat the process if the edges haven’t fully adhered.

For items that will be washed frequently or get plenty of outdoor use, we recommend adding a few stitches around the edge for extra durability.

Please note: Iron-on patches work best on heat-safe fabrics such as cotton and denim. Avoid applying directly to waterproof, coated, highly stretchy or heat-sensitive fabrics.
